Building, breaking, and writing about it.
NAVY SUBMARINE VETERAN · MSP ENGINEER · LIFELONG TINKERER
I'm Dillan Valor. By day I'm a technical support engineer at an MSP managing endpoints, networks, M365 tenants, the usual stack. The rest of the time I'm in the homelab building research tools, doing illegal things within legal context, planning a portable malware triage box, or arguing with myself about local LLM architectures. This site is where I publish that work.
Before all of this, the Navy taught me to stand reactor watches on a submarine. Turns out "plan the worst case, document everything, no drama at 3am" is solid training for both MSP support and incident response.

I Built a $14 BadUSB That Extracts WiFi Passwords in 15 Seconds
A Raspberry Pi Pico W and CircuitPython became a credential-harvesting device in three days. Modern enterprise EDR caught the EICAR test instantly and missed the actual attack entirely. The full build, the payload evolution, and what it reveals about living-off-the-land attacks.
Decrypting My Own TLS Traffic with Wireshark
A full lab on the homelab: OWASP Juice Shop behind nginx, SSLKEYLOGFILE-based TLS decryption, JWT extraction, MD5 hash cracking. 1.4 trillion candidates couldn't crack the password — one hand-built rule got it in a second. The thesis: every password has a "right rule."
Onboarding My Personal PC Into My Own Tenant
A Saturday-night walkthrough of taking a personal Win 11 Home box and turning it into a properly managed endpoint — Pro upgrade, Entra Join, Intune auto-enrollment, profile migration with Profwiz, Defender for Business onboarding, and RoboShadow coexistence. Lots of small gotchas worth documenting.
Say hello
Pen test invites, detection engineering chats, homelab questions, or just comparing notes on the current state of EDR — all welcome.
